The Fight For Morning Glory

News & Politics, Podcast, Society & Culture

Zoe Warwick saunters in to co-host with Macca as we take a look at the most exciting news from Spring Street this week – the expunging of historical criminal convictions for homosexual acts. A great relief for many in our community.  Jason Tuazon McCheyne is the founder, convenor and future senate candidate for the Australian Equality Party.  Registrations are pouring in and it looks as if the AEP will officially be a political party very shortly.

HEY Grants have been doled out by the State Government and JOY 94.9 was a recipient of one of those grants. The Hon Mary Wooldridge spoke to us about the importance of the grants and how the younger members of the LGBTI community will benefit.  JOY 94.9 El Presidente, Jed Gilbert spent some time unde the Community Spotlight talking through the station’s Strategic Direction plan, to be presented at the Annual General Meeting.

Adam Boland has been called many things, including the wunderkind of breakfast television. We spoke to him about his new book, Brekky Central. Emma Striling talks us through food fads and super foods – do we really need to eat so much kale and quinoa?  Matt Hale, from Rising Tide gives us some sound advice about getting in to our first home, and Tanya Jones is in the studio to get her sport on, talking about today’s Caulfield Cup and the AFL Trade week – who wins, who loses?
