Tonight they take a gander at Ash VS Evil Dead the series based on the popular Horror comedy cult films from the wonderful Raimi’s :

Ash vs. Evil Dead is an American comedy horror television series developed by Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi and Tom Spezialy for the Starz network. It is set in the Evil Dead universe and serves as a sequel to the 1992 film Army of Darkness.

The series stars Bruce Campbell reprising his role as Ash Williams. Jill Marie Jones, Ray Santiago, Dana Delorenzo and Lucy Lawless also star. The series is executive produced by Campbell, Raimi, Craig DiGregorio and Rob Tapert, who originally produced the first film. The series premiered on October 31, 2015. Three days before the series’ premiere, Starz renewed it for a second season.

We also celebrate more chainsaw love by remembering Horror icon Leatherface and the man who brought the original menacing chainsaw wielding Leatherface to life in 1974 with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre by Tobe Hooper : Gunnar Hansen who passed away recently (November 7th).

Also remembering screenwriter Melissa Mathison who also passed away very recently, Melissa wrote E.T the Extra-Terrrestrial. Melissa Marie Mathison (June 3, 1950 – November 4, 2015) was an American film and television screenwriter and an activist for Tibetan freedom. She was best known for writing the screenplays for the films The Black Stallion (1979); E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), for which she received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay; andKundun (1997), a biographicaldrama film about the Dalai Lama, the exiled political and spiritual leader of Tibet.
