Proud2Play tackling homophobia in sport

Proud2Play

On tonight’s edition of The Informer we looked at homophobia in sport, in particular the issues faced by younger sex and gender diverse Australians that prevent them from getting involved in sport from an early age.

To chat about this we were joined by James Lolicato and Ryan Storr who recently launched Proud2Play, a not-for-profit aimed at encouraging LGBTI youth to participate in sport, and vice captain of the Australian women’s cricket team Alex Blackwell.

We were also joined by GLOBE President David Micallef to chat about this year’s finalists for the GLOBE Community Awards, which help to champion the great work being done in our community.

Producers: David Beckett, Matthew Wade, and John Nelder.
