Why the Coming Back Out Ball & supporting our LGBTI Elders matters, the Outstanding LGBTI Short Story Competition & what is it like participating in clinical trials to find a cure for HIV?: 26th June 2018

LGBTI elders and allies came together last year for the Coming Back Out Ball, where elders came back out of the closet, standing tall and celebrating living their queer lives proudly.

With the City of Melbourne approving funding a $75,000 grant for the ball again this year, the Herald Sun has run an article yesterday sighting certain councillor’s objections to the event, so on this episode we will revisit last year’s Coming Back Out Ball, as we acknowledge the privileges we have today because of the sacrifices of our LGBT elders who were never afforded the safe rights and comforts.

We take you behind the scenes in a Clinical Trial to combat HIV and find out what it is like to when you volunteer to be poked and prodded, and with entries open for the Outstanding LGBTI short story competition, we let you know how you could be the Next Big Thing in queer creative writing.
