“Tell me what you eat, and I’ll tell you who you are.” – Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin 1825
Australia is a land of extremes. It’s environment was raw and even after European colonisation nature still manages to keen humans to Australia’s outskirts. Today, the team take note of what’s in Australia’s pantry and what a local restaurant and cooking school is doing to help preserve our rich and untapped food basket.
Food adventurers Patrick and Shannon take their stomachs where they have not been before and are given an education at Melbourne’s Charcoal Lane by executive chef Greg Hampton and restaurant manager Ashan Abeykoon. Both quickly understand the importance of Australia’s flora.
