Show 363

They Say It’s Gonna Rain by Hazell Dean. 1985 single. She’s British Hi-NRG…  What a stupid, gimmicky name for a genre of music…

In Circles by Benjamin Orr. Request.

How Do I Make You by Linda Ronstadt. Request.

+Coming Home Now by Boyzone. LGBTI for Stephen Gately, who joined the band in 1993. This is from their 1995 debut album, Said and Done. Gately gets a writing credit as well as singing.

+Journeyman by Jethro Tull. LGBTI for Dee Palmer, their transgander keyboardist from 1977-80. But she also worked with them as an arranger earlier on. This is from their 1978 album, Heavy Horses, their 11th.

+Subhuman by Throbbing Gristle  . Like all their stuff, this is noisy. But it’s LGBTI for Genesis P-Orridge – transgender/third gender – who officially took this name when they turned 21.

Black Cars by Gino Vanelli. Title track from his 1985 album, his 9th. Canadian singer.

Love Will Find a Way by Yes. From their 12th studio album, Big Generator, released in 1987.

Single Life by Cameo. Title track from their 1985 album, their 11th. They were from NYC and started in the early 1970s.

Joe le taxi by Vanessa Paradis. 1988 single from Johnny Depp’s ex. written by Franck Langolff and Étienne Roda-Gil for French child singer Vanessa Paradis (she was 14 when she recorded it in 1987). It was later included in her debut album, M&J, which was released in 1988.

Thighs High (Grip Your Hips and Move) by Tom Browne feat. Toni Smith. 1980 single by jazz trumpeter, Tom Browne. The single is from his third solo album, Magic. The vocals for the single were provided by Toni Smith, who also helped compose the song.
