Kosovo: Society struggling to keep up with progressive laws

Europe

The Balkan country of Kosovo is rare in that it has very comprehensive anti-discrimination laws including specific reference to sexual orientation. So what is it that keeps the local LGBTI community virtually underground?

Kosovo’s new constitution doesn’t limit the definition of marriage to be just between a man and a woman. So why is same-sex marriage a distant dream?

Is Kosovo’s LGBTI community finally finding its voice?

We speak with Ulrike Lunacek – a Member of the European Parliament and Co-President of the LGBT Intergroup – who has recently delivered a report to the European Parliament on Kosovo.

Find out more on W3JOY’s Kosovo homepage.
