Colin joins us as Phil is still missing-in-action, but we’ve got Phil on the phone as we discuss the way our current lives are inter-connected and dependent upon computers and the removal from circulation of redundant coinage.

We look at the lives of some notable members of our community – Stephen Fry UK actor and comedian, Ludwig II King of Bavaria – ‘The Swan King’, and Leonard Bernstein US musician and composer of West Side Story music, etc.

We chat about English politician and slave abolitionist William Wilburforce (born Aug 1759) whose long campaign resulted in the Slavery Abolition Act 1833 (for the British Empire).

We remember the struggle of the indigenous community of Wave Hill Cattle Station NT, as 50 years ago they walked out of their lives as station workers fighting over oppressive working conditions and wages, leading to the return of ownership of land to original owners.

And talking about slaves of another kind, we chat about the historical situation in Brazil and also slavery in the present era.
