The twins are back and they’ve announced a brand-new album. The Veronicas are Lisa Origliasso and her queer sister Jess, who made an instant impact on Aussie music with the release of their debut album, The Secret Life of…, in 2005. Their latest single, ‘Biting My Tongue’, is lifted from their forthcoming fourth album, Human, and comes after the sisters were Boy George’s in-person replacement during the latest mentoring sessions on The Voice Australia. Get your ears around this one – it’s a banger!

The last twelve months have been big for everyone, but they have been particularly big for British fitness trainer Joel Corry. With his breakout single ‘Sorry’ going platinum, and the follow-up, ‘Lonely’, not far behind in the sales department, the reality-TV-star-turned-producer is bound to continue racking up the numbers with his latest. Featuring the vocals and songwriting talent of out-and-proud singer MNEK, ‘Head & Heart’ combines classic house with an infectious melody. We reckon you’ll love it.

French Affair’s debut single in 2000 saw them reach the dizzying heights of the #1 spot around Europe. My Heart Goes Boom (La Di Da Da) went gold in Austria, France and Germany and also broke into the Billboard chart. Twenty years later, German-based production collective CRISPIE have decided to rework the song into ‘Ladida (My Heart Goes Boom)’. This bop features Swiss singer ILIRA and shines a spotlight on the earworm hook of the original.

Dagny has built a cult following in her native Norway, with over half a billion streams to her name and too many Norwegian Grammy nominations to count. We’ve been following the singer-songwriter since her 2016 single Backbeat and we’re pumped that there’s something new. ‘Somebody’ is the second single from Dagny’s forthcoming debut album, Strangers / Lovers, and along with the sparkling vocals are layers of synths, syncopation and a driving beat. We think you’ll want to keep following the rise of this polished pop star in Australia.

Rod Thomas aka Bright Light Bright Light is inching ever closer to dropping his queertastic new album, Fun City, on 18 September. The third single from the album is ‘I Used to Be Cool’, and it’s accompanied by a very camp video that combines elements of cinema from the 80s and 90s, the irreverence of John Waters and the feel of classic MTV music videos. Within seconds of listening, you’ll be rushing to make a cheeky cocktail, find a cabana and enjoy the cool oozing from this one.

Hailing from Sydney, Naderi has made a name for himself producing for big Aussie acts such as Flume and Alison Wonderland, and remixing for a range of artists including The Killers and Diplo. Lately he’s been using his skills to create his own work and is planning to release an EP in August. Coming from that EP is ‘Be Like That’, an ode to the dramas that eventuate when you fall in love with a close friend. The melodic hook of the chorus is made even better by the emotional vocals from LA-based singer RANGER. Give it a couple of listens and we think it’ll become a fave.
