If you like pop music, then you’ll love this week’s additions to JOY’s amazing weekday playlist. Let us help you navigate this brand-new music.

If you like synths, you’ll love ‘Magic’. The second single from Kylie Minogue‘s 15th studio album is here, and it continues the disco feeling begun by its predecessor. You’ll believe in the magic of a hook by the end of this one.

If you like 5SOS, you’ll love ‘Fallin”. This year has seen American boy band Why Don’t We hiding away, recording music for their new album. This single is their first for 2020 and the wait was worth it. Listen out for Kanye’s influence in the song’s intro.

If you like Taylor Swift, you’ll love ’20s’. Aussie singer-songwriter Melanie Dyer is best known for country hits such as ‘Memphis T-Shirt’ and ‘Fresh’, but after a vacay to Nashville, she’s crossed over to the pop sphere. This song is all about the freedom of being in your twenties, and we think it’ll take you back.

If you like Regard, you’ll love ‘Don’t Call Me’. Los Angeles-based Brando came to fame thanks to his six-times platinum release ‘Body’, alongside Loud Luxury. His newest release sees the singer-songwriter continue his mix of amazing lyrics and bang-on dance beats. We think it will feel familiar instantly.

If you like soul, you’ll love ‘Love on Display’. The fourth single from Guy Sebastian‘s forthcoming album, T.R.U.T.H. (the album is due on 16 October), is a big singalong about holding hands. There’s soul, emotion, pop goodness and lots to clap along to with this bop about not hiding your love from the world.

If you like sexy guitar, you’ll love ‘Crush’. Sydney-based electro-pop trio Glades continue their run of bops with their newest. It’s the third single from their forthcoming second studio album, Planetarium, and it’s sure to get you grooving.

If you like keys, you’ll love ‘No Time to Talk’. Legendary Melbourne-based house DJ-producer Ivan Gough has teamed up with a duo for their debut release. But don’t be fooled – this duo isn’t as green as you think. Sydney’s Dave Goode and Ilan Kidron (from The Potbelleez) got together to become Play Play Play for a Friday-night summer residency at the Royal Bondi. If this banger is anything to go by, we’re looking forward to more from this new pairing.

If you like the dark, you’ll love ‘Heavy’. Australia’s dark pop princess, CXLOE, is dropping her debut EP, Heavy, Pt. 1., on 16 October. Its title track talks about a relationship that was once light and full of love but now carries too much weight to handle. We reckon you’ll be able to handle this banger, though.
