MARSHES Beaches (IND)

Boo Seeka Never Enough (DISRUPT MUSIC GROUP)

The sun’s out, so turn your radio (or smart speaker, phone, computer, TV) up and enjoy these brand-new tunes.

There’s a frosty reception in store for someone, but Australia’s Timmy Trumpet isn’t going to spill the goss. ‘Cold’ is the latest release from the DJ-producer-trumpeter’s debut album and it’s a great example of a well-produced, radio-friendly, pop-dance crossover.

Sydneysider MARSHES burst onto the scene last year with her debut single, ‘M.I.A.’, and continued the ride this year with two further releases and shows galore. Her latest single, ‘Beaches’, was written last year but was able to be brought to life in 2020 thanks to a special COVID-19 grant. We’re happy it’s here because the song’s a bright, playful take on the longing for a long-distance love.

‘Playful’ is an excellent adjective for Danish-British-Finnish virtual band Studio Killers. The very animated (and pansexual) Chubby Cherry, Goldie Foxx, DJ Dyna Mink, and manager Bipolar Bear have recently become TikTok stars thanks to users’ discovery of their 2013 release, ‘Jenny’. In the space of one week, nearly half a million users had included the track in their content – and the numbers keep climbing. With accordion, a catchy chorus and a queer love story, we couldn’t say no to making it part of your daytime.

Sydney-based electropop duo Boo Seeka are bringing the summer cool with their newest. ‘Never Enough’ is the third single from Ben and Michael’s second album, due next year. It’s a sun-drenched bop that is perfect for playing poolside while you relax on a banana lounge and sip a cocktail. We reckon you’ll love it.
