The 2018 Mardi Gras Film Festival

For this Out Takes episode, we celebrated the 2018 Mardi Gras Film Festival with a guest studded line up.

We began by running through this year’s exciting program with Festival Director Lisa Rose.

Next we spoke with film makers Mikko Makela and Ian Thomas Ash. Makela is the director of A MOMENT IN THE REEDS, the ground breaking new film that furnishes a Finnish riposte to Francis Lee’s GOD’S OWN COUNTRY. Ash is the producer of BOYS FOR SALE, the compelling new documentary that exposes the underground sex work industry in Japan.

The 2018 Mardi Gras Film Festival runs from 15 February to 01 March. For more information about the Festival see: queerscreen.org.au
