Rainbow Report: Progress & History

News & Politics, Sexuality

Last week the Labour candidate for Melbourne was in the studio, so this week it’s the turn of sitting Greens member, Adam Bandt. He joins us for the first half hour to answer any questions from you.

And one or two from myself, and my cohost for the evening Rod Swift.

Last week we talked about reparative therapy and how we might put a stop to it. I’ll be interested to hear Adams ideas.

It turns out that one of the best known gays in the world, former Episcopalian bishop Gene Robinson, the first openly gay bishop in the worldwide Anglican church, also underwent this ‘conversion’ therapy. He talks about that and his marriage.

And last but not least, Keith Howes, former associate editor of Britain’s first gay newspaper, Gay News, looks back at how far we’ve come, as a Facebook page and YouTube channel are launched to preserve that slice of LGBTI history.

As some of you may know, I was one of the founders of Gay News, so it’s thrilling to see people taking an interest.
