Get your game on with Pride and Joy

Get your game on with Pride and Joy

Come to the Victorian Pride Centre between the 6 August to the 22 September and be inspired to get your sporting game on!

JOY 94.9’s dedicated weekly sport show Game On presented and produced by Jacqueline Shields is now a photographic exhibition titled Sport with Pride and Joy. Every episode of Game On showcases where sport is welcoming, safe, inclusive and fun for the Rainbow community.

Forty-four photos featuring 30 sports cover both walls of the Pride Gallery at the Victorian Pride Centre Pride Gallery sending the strong message that the LGBTIQA+ community belongs in sport.

The exhibition celebrates the extraordinary amount of people behind the many Pride rounds, games and tournaments and LGBTIQA+ sporting clubs featured across three seasons of Game On.

The dedication and determination of the Rainbow community to thrive in sport is proudly on display from elite athletes, Olympians, Paralympians and members of grassroots sporting clubs.

A spotlight is shone on the support from leaders of our sporting codes across Australia – the many active allies who staunchly believe that sport should be enjoyed by everyone.

The exhibition is a beacon of positivity. It serves to challenge the viewer to reimagine their relationship with sport to what is possible – connection, camaraderie, confidence, and a successful career. A QR code accompanies each image – an open invitation to learn more and have a more active sporty life.

Sport with Pride and Joy is an exhibition proudly supported by Liberty – recently awarded Silver status in the 2025 Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) annual LGBTQ+ Inclusion Awards and Pride in Diversity member.
