Episode 5 – Deadly Fringe
In the fifth and final Episode of the 2018 Melbourne Fringe Podcast Series, Simon Abrahams, Creative Director and CEO of Melbourne Fringe, is joined by three first nation artists delivering groundbreaking theatre at this years Deadly Fringe.
Sandy Greenwood discusses her dynamic one woman show, illustrating the strength of of four generations of Gumbaynggirr women from the 1940s to the present day in ‘Matriarch’. ‘Liyan’ will explore the idea of following the stars, through dance theatre song and poetry and it is presented by Sermsah ‘Suri’ Bin Saad (Host of Urban Dreaming on JOY). Declan Furber Gillick is an exciting new voice in Australian theatre and ‘Bighouse Dreaming’ explores themes of race, class, sex, drugs, violence, incarceration, poverty and colonization.
