JOY 94.9 Radiothon – “That’s so JOY!”

27 May 2014

JOY 94.9 Radiothon – “That’s so JOY!”

From this Friday, the annual JOY 94.9 Radiothon is ON with great prizes and 8 days of amazing LGBTI community radio that’s made in Melbourne for the world.

The 2014 Radiothon theme is ‘That’s so JOY!’ which is where the station reclaims the negative connotations associated with the phrase ‘That’s so gay’ and puts a positive spin on it to celebrate the diverse and wonderful Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Bisexual & Intersex communities.

With the atrocities that are occurring around the world towards the LGBTI community in countries like Brunei, Uganda and Russia right through to what is happening in Australia in regards to equality, discrimination and human rights shows that JOY 94.9 is not only a much needed voice for the Melbourne LGBTI community but also as a beacon of hope for those globally who do not have the right to be out and proud of themselves and their community
Conrad Browne, JOY 94.9 General Manager

The vital funds raised during JOY’s Radiothon will keep Australia’s first and only GLBTI community radio station on air for another year plus everyone who signs up will go in to the major prize draw valued at over $36,000.
