Australia’s Most Uplifting Music Mix

JOY celebrates Australian and Global music with a strong focus on providing a platform for rainbow artists whenever possible.

Starting off with JOY Breakfast all the way through to  JOY Drive, our daytime music mix is a blend of upbeat pop, RnB, uplifting remixes and the occasional ‘oldie but a goody’ from the 70s, 80s, 90s and naughties to get your foot tapping.

We love being the first to introduce a new track too so set your radio to 94.9 for a music mix that’s fresh, exciting and uplifting.

The ‘sound’ you hear is lovingly put together by our Music Director (@JOY949MD on X).

JOY Daytimes music on JOY is selected based on our own music policy as well as the fit for our signature uplifting sound.

Specialist music shows for every taste

Our specialty music programs across the schedule showcase everything from country, urban, jazz and alternative through to world music, acoustic, classical and folk.

You can find a list of all our programs at https://joy.org.au/programs/

Getting your music on JOY

If you’re Aussie, independent or identify as part of the LGBTIQA+ communities and your music reflects our daytime or specialist sound, send a stream link to music.director@joy.org.au for consideration.

To send physical media to the station, post  your  CD and  bio to:

JOY Music Team

If your music is suitable for JOY Daytimes you will hear back from the music team. If it’s not, sometimes our volunteer team doesn’t have a chance to get back to everyone individually, though they try.

If you believe your music might suit another one of our music programs, you are welcome to approach that show directly.
