Tech Drive 2012
Studio 4 equipment and fit-out
From Friday March 23 to Friday March 30 2012 we’ll be raising funds for equipment and fit-out of Studio 4, our Production Studio.
The drive is running for just one week and we have a modest target of $15,000.
All funds donated for this Tech Drive will be allocated and used for this project only.
Studio 4 is an important and integral part of JOY’s daily operations and helps ensure the station can continue to provide the production services for JOY’s extensive free community Service Announcement (CSA) program as well as allowing us to continue producing quality sponsor announcements.
JOY has undertaken to produce and broadcast all community service announcements free of charge, giving voice to small not-for-profit and community groups who are financially challenged.
The sponsorship announcements we produce enable us to deliver a tailored and professional product for our sponsors, greatly contributing to a significant financial source that helps keep us on air.

Subject to the amount of funds donated, our intention is to provide:
- new technical equipment, including a sound mixer, high-quality head-phones, hardware and software
- appropriate cable management
- a custom-built production desk
- major improvements to the sound-proofing of the room
- storage for the various source CDs
- upgrade of the lighting
- adjustments to the air-conditioning
