Get behind the mic!

Get behind the mic!

JOY 94.9 is proud of being the voice of the LGBTI communities and there’s never been a better time to become part of Australia’s only LGBTI radio station.

Here at JOY we strive to produce radio that uplifts, informs and inspires, while enabling freedom of expression, the breaking down of isolation and celebrating our culture, achievements and pride.

While we have over 60 programs on our program grid led by our dedicated and talented broadcasters, there is always room for more!

Applications are now open to be part of the next JOY program grid that begins in April. If there is something you’re passionate about that doesn’t have a home on JOY yet, then we want to hear from you. Perhaps it’s RnB? Rainbow families? Contemporary rock? Literature? Whatever it may be, if you have radio broadcasting experience, then get in touch with me.

Application for the next program grid close 12 February, but I’m happy to hear your ideas all year round.

If you love our daytime programming and want to become a daytime presenter of Melbourne’s most uplifting music mix then there’s space for you too.

If you don’t have any experience in broadcasting but want to know more, there are spaces in our next Taste of Radio course.

I look forward to hearing from you.

JOY Program Director
