  • Multilingual Volunteer Opportunities

The best thing about Melbourne is our multiculturalism and that comes from you!

We are looking for volunteers who can fluently speak, read and write in languages other than English to participate in a national Multilingual Rainbow Community Service Announcement Project in the role of:

    • Announcement scriptwriter
    • Voiceover talent

Australia’s largest LGBTIQ community organisation JOY 94.9 is producing a multilingual rainbow community service announcement (CSA) project. This will showcase LGBTIQ services and community groups that are based in each state and nationally. The announcements will provide vital LGBTIQ resources and community engagement information for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities around Australia.

The announcements will be pre-recorded and pre-produced, then nationally distributed. The JOY 94.9 Multilingual Rainbow Community Service Announcements Project will reach community members who do not have access to information and may not feel safe to freely express themselves.

JOY 94.9 is seeking representatives of many different languages, from every continent. All are welcome, including existing JOY volunteers. Training and support is available and no prior experience is required to participate.

If you have the language skills and are willing to volunteer your time, please contact Special Project Coordinator Alice Berkeley via rainbowcsa@joy.org.au to express your interest and/or for more information.
