JOY 94.9 has 7 finalists in CBAA Awards!
The CBAA Community Radio Awards Finalists have been announced, and JOY has been shortlisted in seven categories!
It is a fantastic achievement to make it all the way through as a finalist. A huge congratulations to the individuals, show teams and volunteers who have had their work recognised this year.
JOY CBAA Awards finalists:
- Best Special Event Broadcast – Mardi Gras Special 2019
- Excellence in Digital Media – Eurovision Top 100
- Excellence in Innovative Programming and Content – Checkpoint
- Excellence in Journalism – Hooked
- Excellence in News & Current Affairs Programming – Saturday Magazine
- Outstanding Youth Contribution – Alex Dislakis
- Troy Garner Excellence in Sports Programming – The Bench

Along with 2SER, who also have finalists in seven categories (well done 2SER!), JOY has the largest number of finalists in the CBAA Awards of any station in Australia.
Award winners will be announced on Saturday, 25 October at a special Awards Gala Dinner held as part of the 2019 CBAA Conference, to be held in Melbourne.
