Volunteer Position: Head of News

Located at the Victorian Pride Centre in Melbourne, JOY is Australia’s LGBTIQA+ community media organisation. We provide entertaining and uplifting digital and radio content to audiences in Australia and those based overseas. Our work is made possible by the volunteers we have all over the country, and exists to make Australia more inclusive by providing a multimedia platform and enabler for change.

We are currently recruiting for a new team leader for our JOY News team.

JOY’s Head of News is responsible for managing and leading the JOY News team. JOY’s news team provides a consistent, professional news service that is inclusive of and relevant to our diverse rainbow community. The Head of News is responsible for facilitating this service, ensuring our news training and policies are up-to-date and in line with industry best practice, and for bringing the news team together to ensure JOY continues to have a thriving news service.
