JOY is currently looking for passionate volunteers with journalism experience, to join our News Team to deliver professional, informative, impartial and accurate news and sports bulletins live (or pre-recorded) on JOY 94.9.
This is a 3+ hours per week volunteer position based at JOY’s office at the Victorian Pride Centre.
Key Responsibilities include
- Editing and presenting informative, impartial, accurate and interesting news and sports
bulletins - Presenting live, 3-5 minute bulletins hourly, with short news updates at 30 past each hour
• Live News Bulletins are presented at the following times:- JOY Breakfast – Weekdays 7am-9am
- JOY Drive – Weekdays 4pm – 6pm
- Saturday Mornings – 8am – 12pm
- Saturday Afternoons – 5pm – 6pm
- Sunday Mornings – 9am – 11am
- Sunday – 5pm – 6pm
- Understand and comply with broadcast media law and industry codes of conduct
- Research, write, edit and present radio news stories, both live and pre-recorded
- Liaise with the head of JOY News as well as other news readers to ensure consistency in all
