JOY’s Radiothon is back for 2022! #GrowWithJOY

JOY Radiothon is back, bigger, better, bonkers!

We are so excited for our annual fundraiser Radiothon to make its 10-day return from Wednesday March 30 to Friday April 8 2022!

There will be hijinks and mayhem, jokes and laughter, MASSIVE prizes to win, as well as some heartfelt personal stories from our presenters about what Radiothon really means as a fundraiser for our organisation.

Last year we embraced JOY and focused on where we’ve been as a station. This year, we want to acknowledge our history, but focus on how much we’ve grown and where we’re headed with an amazing future in 2022.

That’s why our theme this year is #GrowWithJOY. We’ve got so many wonderful projects and initiatives that are building our future and we want you to join us on that journey.

You can #GrowWithJOY by donating or becoming a member this Radiothon. To enable our continual survival and evolution we need your financial support.

Your funds will keep JOY alive and enable us to:

Continue to provide countless hours of original radio content per week
Support and showcase Australian LGBTIQA+ musicians and artists
Provide a safe space and respected platform for rainbow queer folks in radio and media
Provide current and breaking news that is relevant to the needs of our community
Upskill and connect LGBTIQA+ folks in regional, rural and remote Australia
Support LGBTIQA+ Under 18-year old’s find community, navigate their journey and learn how to raise their voice through podcasting and radio
Foster diverse voices in traditionally less-inclusive spaces such as sports broadcasting
Continue running inclusivity training to make workplaces safer places for our rainbow community
Foster upcoming video content creators and short form media through JOY TV
Provide hybrid in person and digital events to better support the diversity and accessibility needs of our community

Over the last few years, we’ve been growing our inclusivity, and diversity and now we’re moving forward to ensure that growth is sustainable.

Any funds raised during Radiothon will help secure a brighter more joyful future for not only our organisation, but our rainbow community we exist to support and uplift.

We are setting a minimum target of $300,000

We hope to far exceed this amount but we need you to share, donate and become a member to do so!

Key Dates You Need To Know:

Wednesday March 30^th – Radiothon begins!
Friday April 1st – The Hours of Power are back 7-9am on JOY Breakfast
Friday 8^th – Last day of Radiothon and our huge JOY Rooftop Party with a massive prize draw!
