We’re Hiring!
JOY is recruiting an eLearning Platform Developer to work in our JOY Academy team from January to April 2022.
JOY provides training services both internally and to external clients. This includes Radio and Podcasting Training, enabling people with the skills to create content for JOY on air and in podcast form. We also provide LGBTQIA+ inclusion and Diversity Training to Organisations, Businesses and Start Ups, supporting the community by helping these organisations gain a greater understanding of the LGBTQIA community. Additionally, JOY conducts internal training programs such as Broadcast Media Law recertification.
Currently, our established training resources are spread across multiple, low-tech platforms, with little standardisation.
Your Brief
The successful applicant for this role will work with the JOY Production and Services Manager to create a custom Moodle (Or other open-source LMS platform) learning management system for JOY Media converting the five existing training courses, and their resources, to an online format.
The platform should include features such as: Virtual classrooms (Video and audio), recording of classes (and storage of these recordings), breakout rooms, polls, submission of assessments, self-guided learning, reporting (Attendance, quiz results, etc), hosting of JOY Academy resources and more.
The successful applicant will also work with the JOY Academy team to train them on how to utilise and modify the platform. This training will also be documented in training resources for future JOY Academy team members.
Key Selection Criteria
Required:
- Experience and or qualifications in building, modifying and utilising Moodle or similar eLearning Platform
- Experience creating/building training resources for an online learning platform
- Substantial experience in project design, delivery and management
- Ability work within scope, timelines and budget
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Sound administration, organisational and time management skills
Desired:
- Sensitivity and understanding of the LGBTI Community
- Experience working in the community sector and/or a community media environment
