The Melbourne Queer Film Festival is back!
[This post is sponsored by MQFF]
The Melbourne Queer Film Festival is back in cinemas after a couple of years of pandemic-fuelled chaos. With COVID –19 hitting hard in 2020, MQFF had to delay its 30th birthday celebrations. This year it’s back to an in-person event, and we can’t wait to see some of the amazing films in the line-up.
A virtual line-up will follow, but there’s nothing like the physical MQFF experience.
Running, 10th –21st November, the 12-day festival will screen 49 features and 12 short film packages, including 35 Australian premieres. This year, eight screenings will take place on the Victorian Pride Centre rooftop for the first time. Other venues include ACMI, Village Cinemas Jam Factory and Cinema Nova.
“We’re excited to be back in full swing to share an international survey of queer narratives with audiences. This jam-packed program invites the community to come together to laugh, to be moved, to connect, and to celebrate queer lives and stories,”
– David Martin Harris, MQFF CEO.
A selection of local and international drama, comedy, documentary, and everything in between, from boundary-pushing filmmakers across the globe. And it’s all 100% queer!
